FAQs

• Is the Standalone Shelf compatible with a cargo barrier?
  • The KAON Barrier is compatible with this shelf, but is not required to mount it. The Standalone Shelf may fit with Autosafe and factory Mitsubishi Cargo Barriers, however mounting brackets may require modification to fit with our shelf. The Standalone Shelf may not fit if you have another third-party cargo barrier installed in your vehicle.

• How big is the Standalone Shelf?
  • The shelf measures 1074L x 450W.

• What are the clearances when the Standalone Shelf is installed?
  • When installed on the highest setting, the non-sunroof version has 900mm clearance to the floor, and 205mm of clearance from the ceiling to the bottom of the shelf.

• How far forward does the shelf sit in the vehicle?
  • There are 3 positions so you can alter the shelf to suit your setup. Measured from the centre of the handle, to the front face of the shelf fence is as follows:
    • Position 1: 202mm
    • Position 2: 227mm
    • Position 3: 252mm

• What is the load/weight capacity for the Standalone Shelf?
  • The shelf is rated to 10kg, evenly distributed across the shelf. We recommend it as storage for lightweight and soft cargo.

• Can we still use the third-row seats with the shelf?
  • Kaon do not recommend passengers ride in the third-row seats with the shelf installed. Should you wish to have passengers seated in the third row, uninstalling the shelf is quick and easy, taking just 10 minutes.

Select With or Without Sunroof and 5-Seater or 7-seater.

*If you have a factory 7-Seater but have removed the rear seats to make it a 5-Seater, you still require the 7-Seater option.

*Rear passengers should not ride with the shelf installed overhead. To carry passengers, simply take out the shelf by removing the 4 bolts that hold the shelf to the handle brackets.
