Angled Wind Deflector Maxtrax & TRED Mounts to suit Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform (Series 4-6)
Get double duty out of roof-mounted Maxtrax and TRED Recovery Boards. Positioned at a 45º angle, these mounting brackets act as a wind deflector for vehicles running bulky roof-mounted accessories, such as a rooftop tent.
Features:
- Potential for improved fuel efficiency and reduction in wind noise
- Angled mounting takes up a smaller footprint, giving more room for all your gear.
- Provides quick access for even quicker recoveries.
- Secure and lockable mounting system so your recovery boards will stay put.
- Roof mounting frees up valuable room and keeps your interior clean.
- Quick and simple to install.
- 4mm Stainless Steel brackets are powder coated in a durable textured matt black finish that blends in and won't rust.
- Will mount 2 or 4 Maxtrax MKII tracks using standard pins. Please see FAQ for details for other Maxtrax or TRED varieties.
Includes:
- 2 x Angled Wind Deflector Mounts – Please select whether your rack is a 4 slat or 5 slat option above
- All hardware required to attach the mounts to the rack is included
- Optional: 4 x Maxtrax 17mm or TRED Mounting Pins – Select your preference above

Which mounting pins are best for my setup?
There are different pin options depending on which recovery boards you have. Here's what we recommend:
MAXTRAX Recovery Tracks
- Maxtrax MK II Boards, Maxtrax Mini and Jaxbase: Maxtrax 17mm pins
- Maxtrax Xtreme Boards: Maxtrax X-Series Pins
- 2 x Maxtrax MK II + 2 x Maxtrax Xtreme: Maxtrax Hybrid Pins
TRED Recovery Boards
- TRED PRO, GT or HD: Either TRED Threaded or Quick Release Pins
- TRED Pins are usually sold in sets of 2. We sell TRED Pins in sets of 4, to ensure optimum use with our mounts.
Please note Kaon's mounts are not compatible with the 'TRED originals' range of 800 and 1100 boards available before 2019.
