The Maxtrax Fuse Shackle is a critical safety component designed to sit at the heart of the Maxtrax Recovery System. Built as the intentional weak link in the system, it is engineered to be the first point of failure in the event of an overloadhelping protect both your vehicle and recovery equipment during extreme loads.
As part of the fully integrated Maxtrax Recovery System, the Fuse Shackle is designed and tested to work exclusively with Maxtrax products. For safe operation, it must always be used during vehicle recoveries, and only connected to rated recovery points or compatible Maxtrax gear such as winch ropes, kinetic ropes, static ropes, or hitch systems.
Using the Fuse Shackle is simple and intuitive. Before each use, inspect it carefully to ensure it is in safe working condition. To connect, loosen the loop, pass it through your recovery point or equipment, then secure it back over the knot. When properly seated, the shackle creates a strong, secure connection designed to handle high dynamic loads while still functioning as a controlled safety release point under extreme stress.
For best practice, always combine your setup with a recovery dampener and ensure the recovery area is clear of bystanders. Begin every recovery slowly by gently taking up slack before applying load progressively if required.
