February 2021 Update: How lockdowns are impacting on delivery times.

Lockdowns are disrupting our courier & supplier partners
We wanted to let you know how the past lockdown in Western Australia and the current lockdown in Victoria is impacting on our service to you.
Firstly, we want to forward our thoughts and thanks to the people of Victoria and Western Australia for doing what is being asked of them to keep the community safe.
We operate out of Newcastle, NSW. We're not directly impacted by lockdowns and restrictions but companies we rely on are. The lockdowns are causing the following delays:
- Deliveries to WA have been severely impacted by the WA Lockdown. All of our courier partners are advising that they are delayed. Star Track and Australia Post are reporting that their delay is expected to be up to 10 business days with freighters lining up to get into the Perth distribution centre to be unloaded. While the WA lockdown has finished, the impact of the lockdown is still expected to be felt for a few weeks.
- Backordered items arriving from Victoria will be delayed by up to 10 business days. If you have placed an order on an item that is on backorder your item will be delayed. Many of our suppliers are abiding by the lockdown requirements and have ceased warehouse and distribution operations. While customer service is still available for these companies, it is unlikely that we will see any shipments from these suppliers until at least next week.
The products we source from Victoria that are likely to be impacted by lockdown are:
- Gripsport bike carriers
- Hayman Reese
- Tuff Tonneaus
Rola and Hayman Reese have secondary warehouses in Sydney so not all items will be impacted. Please contact us to confirm availability if you need something urgently.
The biggest impact for customers expecting deliveries is in to WA. All of our couriers are working as hard as they can to clear the backlog. If you notice your shipment hasn't had a scanning update for a while, that is likely because it is still sitting in a freighter awaiting sorting in the distribution centre in Perth. Items are scanned when they leave Sydney and again when they arrive in Perth.
To avoid causing any further delays, we have been asked to keep the enquiries and investigation requests we make to our couriers to a minimum. Obviously asking their staff to find certain items will limit their ability to quickly work through the backlog. If your item is not critically urgent, we ask that you please practice patience to allow the system to recover as quickly as possible. If your item is urgent, please contact us on 02 8318 7755 and we will do our best to help.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to trust A1 Roof Racks.
